Benefits of aquatic therapyWhat is Aquatic Therapy?

It’s a therapy that is hands-on based and utilizes anti-gravity treatment produced by a therapeutic pool. When the body is outside of the water, it has limited range of motion. When using aquatic massage therapy you have a larger range of motion, thus being more of a benefit for the client.

Taking advantage of the therapeutic pool, the client is able to complete a set of stretches without any impact on their joints or muscle pain. During the treatment clients are in a floating position on their back and the water massages them. Aquatic massages in the water benefit the client by use of a pool noodle to keep them afloat at one end. The therapist holds the other end, allowing the client to have more support.

What are the benefits of Aquatic Therapy?

Aquatic Therapy takes place with clients floating in warm water and performing a series of Shiatsu stretches which help with flexibility.

  • Therapeutic pool is kept at 95 degrees Fahrenheit to relax muscles and joints
  • Low gravity allows gentler movement in the water without causing pain
  • Most anyone can do it regardless of age
  • Aquatic therapy is great for people with sleep disorders, such as insomnia, as it is very relaxing
